I took my old Toyota Matrix in for a needed clutch replacement. Erik did the job and it all went well, except that there was then something wrong with the timing of the cylinders’ firing. Trouble was, I had been housesitting on the island and needed to leave for Vancouver Island before he could fix it.
I took the car to my son’s mechanic in Saanichton,, who didn’t have time to do a full investigation and repair. He changed the plugs, as was needed, and that helped but didn’t solve the problem. So, I took the car back to Erik and he spent an hour (no charge) figuring out what had gone wrong. Turned out it was a simple thing: a couple of hoses misconnected.
He figured it out, fixed it, then gave me a cash rebate for the cost of the Saanichton’s mechanics bill plus other costs.
This is a stand-up guy. I’ll be housesitting on Salt Spring again in early 2020. If anything goes wrong with the Toyota, I’ll take it to Erik.
